Congratulations on finishing your grad program and bravely moving into the world as a practicing therapist! I know that this is such an exciting time and you’re ready to find your supervisor so you can start working towards those licensure hours. If you’re anything like me, you take this process very seriously and really want to find a supervisor who supports you and will help you grow as a therapist.
So, let me tell you about myself…
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of South Carolina and am currently accepting associates who are working on LPCA licensure hours.
Unfortunately, I am NOT currently accepting graduate level interns.
My professional experience…
- Group home / PRTF therapist
- DSS / Foster Care
- Private Practice
- Group Practice Owner
Specialized training…
- In the past I worked with children. I did Play Therapy including CCPT, Theraplay Level 1, and Sand Tray
- Currently work with adults and couples. I use skills from Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing
What to expect from supervision…
- I am constantly learning and growing, and I want to help you do the same. I want to teach you, challenge you, and support you.
- When you mess up, I want you to know I’ve got your back. Making mistakes is how we learn. It will happen. It still happens for me. We are humans. I don’t expect you to be some “perfect” therapist.
- We will address what comes up for you in your sessions (self-of therapist concerns).
- We will stay up to date on new research and ethical considerations.
- I will be here to guide you as you face difficult situations, like abuse/neglect reporting or suicidality.
- I will support you as you learn different models, work with different types of people, and decide what approaches fit best with your beliefs and your personality.
- I will make sure I dedicate the time needed each week for you to complete your hours within your 2 year time frame. I’m also open to you using other supervisors in addition to me for a more diverse experience.
- If you are interested in starting your own private practice, I would love to help you get that process started. I have owned my practice since 2017. I have started an LLC, credentialed with insurance companies, and even hired employees. If that’s something you’re interested in doing in the future, that is something I can advise on.
Other important info…
My fee for supervision is $150 per hour.
However, there is an option for you to split individual supervision time with another supervisee (2 LPCA’s sharing the hour) and therefore also split the cost ($75 per person). This still counts as individual supervision hours!
If there are more than 2 supervisees, it would count as group supervision. The rate for group supervision is $50 per person.
If you’d like to set up a phone call or meeting, please contact me! I am excited for the possibility of working together.
